February sees the start of the academic year at Stellenbosch University. We are in the tenth year of the existence of the Russel Botman Bursary Fund that we will celebrate in October 2023. Ten years of putting Prof Botman’s hope, the dream of personally contributing to access to higher education into real and tangible action. More about that in the coming months, though.
Some of our recipients of 2022 have also completed their supplementary exams successfully and are now anticipating graduation during the March ceremonies. Well done!
Not only is February the month of academics … it is also the month of love…
In the words of American motivational author, William Arthur Ward:
Love is more than a noun – it is a verb;
It is more than a feeling – it is caring, sharing, helping, sacrificing.
Love, therefore, is caring, sharing, helping, and sacrificing. Each one of these actions bears testimony to the legacy that Prof Russel Botman has left. Establishing this Bursary Fund is an act of love. In expressing this love we care about our youth and their aspirations to become qualified professionals and contributing citizens. We share our resources in donating to the Bursary Fund. In their sharing we acknowledge the sacrifice of our donors helping our youth to reach their full potential. Thank you for being a donor to the Bursary Fund. Thank you for loving our youth. Thank you for caring, sharing, helping, and sacrificing.
If you are still considering how to express love during the month of love, donate to the Russel Botman Bursary Fund to afford students bursary opportunities to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
